COSCO SHIPPING Holdings’ ESA3 Service Sets Sail in December
COSCO SHIPPING Holdings has announced the launch of a new Far East–East South America ESA3 service in December this year. As the company’s third service in this market, ESA3 will further increase service frequency and, combined with supporting feeder and supply chain services, provide customers with higher-quality and more efficient full-chain transport solutions.
Port Sequence
The first sailing of the new ESA3 service will depart from Ningbo around December 17. The port sequence is: Ningbo – Shanghai – Shekou – Singapore – Santos – Navegantes – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Navegantes – Santos – Coega* – Singapore – Hong Kong* – Ningbo.
(Note: Calls at Coega and Hong Kong are subject to confirmation by the end of October and further review respectively.)
Key Features
On the Far East side, the ESA3 service focuses on East China, South China, and Southeast Asian markets, while on the South American side it delivers full coverage for the East-South America region, effectively covering Brazil and the La Plata River basin. Capacity for Brazil has been significantly expanded, service frequency to Argentina and Uruguay has been increased, and delivery times are at the leading level in the market. The call at the Port of Coega will offer a fast channel for agricultural products and reefer containers from South Africa to Southeast Asia and China. Boosting higher frequency, broader coverage and greater stability, and backed by an extensive trunk-and-feeder network plus supply-chain offerings, the service will deliver faster, more convenient logistics support to fuel customers’ business growth.
Supporting Feeder and Supply Chain Services
■ Feeder services are available connecting via Santos to the north of Salvador and Vitória, as well as via Montevideo to Asunción.
■ In Brazil, the service offers 193 standard trucking product routes, fully covering core ports such as Santos and Rio de Janeiro. Trucking services mainly serve industrial hinterlands such as São Paulo and Minas Gerais, as well as grain-producing areas such as Mato Grosso. From the Port of Santos, rail transport reaches inland rail terminals, with short-haul trucking arranged at both ends, serving the export of soybeans, corn, and other grains.
■ In Argentina, the service offers 47 standard trucking product routes, fully covering core ports including Buenos Aires and Rosario. Trucking services mainly serve the Buenos Aires metropolitan area and inland industrial cities such as Córdoba, providing port-to-door and door-to-port inland trucking services.
