On August 27 local time, M.V. OOCL Sweden under COSCO SHIPPING, weighed anchor and set sail from Hamburg, Germany, officially marking the commencement of the maritime transport of the first batch of exhibits for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
The first batch of exhibits shipped on this voyage consists of high-end precision machine tools from Austria. The cargo traveled through the hinterland of Europe and is now heading to Shanghai via an ocean shipping route, with expected time of arrival at Shanghai Yangshan Port on September 30, where it will await the grand opening of the 9th CIIE.
As the official international transport service provider partner for the CIIE, COSCO SHIPPING has safeguard the CIIE exhibits for nine consecutive years, offering exhibitors from all over the world end-to-end logistics supply chain services. These exhibits come from WFL, a renowned Austrian high-end machine tool manufacturer. On August 7 local time, WFL’s exhibition equipment was loaded and departed from Linz, Austria, was transferred by land to Hamburg, Germany, and is now traveling by sea to Shanghai aboard OOCL Sweden, with COSCO SHIPPING providing end-to-end logistics supply chain services throughout the entire journey. From the inland heartland of Europe to sailing across the ocean, every link in the chain has been seamlessly connected, fully demonstrating COSCO SHIPPING’s global network layout and professional operation capabilities.
Among the exhibits, the all-new M35G MILLTURN turn-mill machining center, which will make its Asia debut, is widely used in high-end manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, large vessel, energy power equipment manufacturing. The journey of this precision machine tool across thousands of miles to the CIIE is both a vivid embodiment of the expo’s theme New Era, Shared Future, and a testament to COSCO SHIPPING’s value in linking global supply chains and serving industrial upgrading.
M. V. OOCL SWEDEN is the new-generation 24,188-TEU ultra-large eco-friendly container vessel independently designed and developed by COSCO SHIPPING.
