Recently, the vessel “GANG HONG RUI FU”, carrying 20 specialized asphalt tank containers, departed from COSCO SHIPPING Yangpu Port for Laem Chabang Port in Thailand, marking the official launch of the first direct asphalt tank container shipping route between the two ports.

This transportation milestone was achieved through the collaborative efforts of COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Hainan), Hainan Harbor & Shipping International Port Services, and Hainan Harbor & Shipping Logistics. Leveraging COSCO SHIPPING Lines’ network advantages and Hainan Harbor & Shipping’s port and logistics resources, the three parties focused on building Yangpu as a hub port and met customer demands with one-stop services, including trucking capacity support, prioritized terminal operations, vessel space reservation, end-to-end information tracking, and coordinated with Thai agents to complete the closed-loop repositioning of empty containers.

Compared with traditional bulk cargo transportation, this new foreign trade route effectively resolves issues such as long transit times and strict temperature control requirements for asphalt during transshipment. It aligns well with the green development needs of China-Thailand trade under the RCEP framework, providing a higher-quality logistics solution for the bilateral chemical trade between the two countries.
