On April 20, the training program for local employees from Piraeus Port Authority S.A. and COSCO SHIPPING Ports Chancay Peru officially kicked off at the headquarters of COSCO SHIPPING in Shanghai. Mr. Zhang Feng, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Also present at the ceremony were officials from COSCO SHIPPING’s Human Resources Division, the COSCO SHIPPING Talent Development Institute, and COSCO SHIPPING Ports. A total of 15 overseas employees from the Port of Piraeus in Greece and the Port of Chancay in Peru participated in the training.
On behalf of COSCO SHIPPING, Mr. Zhang Feng extended a warm welcome to all trainees and outlined expectations regarding the Group’s international development and the career growth of overseas employees. As pivotal nodes for the joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Port of Piraeus and the Port of Chancay underscore the strategic value of the Group’s global port and shipping network. An international talent pool is the key force underpinning the Group’s high-quality development. It is necessary to take this training as an opportunity to holistically advance strategic alignment and cultural exchange, capability enhancement and transformation adaptability, as well as collaborative development and value creation, while at the same time giving play to the role of local overseas employees as bridges and links to boost the coordinated development of Chinese and foreign teams.
The two-week training program is hosted by COSCO SHIPPING Human Resources Division and organized by COSCO SHIPPING Talent Development Institute, focusing on three core themes: cultural integration, business understanding, and capability enhancement. It is delivered through a combination of classroom lectures, discussions, and on-site learning. During the training, participants will visit Shanghai, Qingdao, and other cities for in-depth field studies at relevant corporate facilities. This will provide them with a systematic understanding of the integrated “Shipping + Ports + Logistics” development model, allowing them to experience firsthand COSCO SHIPPING’s innovative practices in digital intelligence and low-carbon green operations.
