MV XIN AN PING, fully loaded with breakbulk cargo, arrived at the BOFFA anchorage in Guinea recently and commenced discharging operations, marking the official launch of COSCO SHIPPING Bulk’s direct China-West Africa breakbulk service.

The maiden vessel for this new route is a handysize bulk carrier featuring shallow draft and strong adaptability, ideal for calls at small and medium ports in West Africa. Its cargo comprises both dry bulk and breakbulk commodities, dominated by bulk cement clinker and engineering equipment, supplemented by bulk bags, vehicles, steel pipe piles, and steel balls. Optimized stowage and standardized cargo lashing maximize the vessel’s hold capacity and deliver improved transport efficiency and economic returns simultaneously.
This new service resolves industry pain points of multiple transshipments, prolonged transit times, and high costs for West Africa breakbulk shipments. It provides clients with an efficient, convenient, and economical dedicated logistics solution, while also adding a solid foundation for building a stable and normalized China-West Africa breakbulk transport corridor.
