COSCO SHIPPING Launches Green & Direct Delivery Service for Brazilian Pulp to Western Shandong via Integrated Logistics Solutions

2026-01-27

Recently, the integrated “ocean + inland river” full-chain transportation project for Brazilian pulp, orchestrated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, was successfully concluded. This milestone marks the successful implementation of the ”bulk-to-container” dedicated pulp delivery service on the Shanghai-Jining route, establishing a new green and efficient logistics paradigm for delivering imported bulk commodities directly to China’s inland manufacturing hubs.

During this transportation process, M.V. CSPC GEMINI, operated by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, completed the cross-border shipping task first, delivering the Brazilian pulp to Shanghai’s Luojing Terminal. After being unloaded and warehoused at Luojing Terminal, the pulp was rapidly loaded into containers and transferred to a dedicated yard at the terminal, achieving seamless connection between unloading, containerization, and transshipment.

Subsequently, the pulp-loaded containers were loaded onto the LNG-powered new energy vessel “Jining Port & Shipping 9001”, which sailed directly along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal for seven days to Jining Port and were finally delivered to the customer’s factory.

This full-chain logistics service has not only realized the end-to-end integration of pulp transportation from South American production areas to manufacturing bases in southwestern Shandong Province, China, but has also created a low-carbon and high-efficiency logistics model. By adopting the “bulk-to-container” mode, both cargo loss rates and comprehensive integrated logistics costs have been significantly reduced. The inland waterway transportation segment utilizing new energy vessels achieved a carbon emission reduction of over 30% compared with traditional fuel-powered ships, while the overall transportation efficiency has been improved by 15% compared with conventional methods. This provides a stable and low-carbon raw material supply chain guarantee for the manufacturing industry in southwestern Shandong Province.
