With one month to go until the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics, M.V. COSCO SHIPPING YUAN HAI KOU, carrying four 4K/8K ultra-high-definition broadcasting vehicles owned by China Central Television (CCTV), recently arrived safely in Italy. This “Chinese Red” symbol is set to shine once again on the Olympic stage. It will undertake the production of 8K international public signals for the opening and closing ceremonies and multiple events of the Winter Olympics, bringing the splendor of the grand event to the world.

This shipment set sail from Taicang Port, Jiangsu Province, at the end of November 2025. To ensure that the globally watched Winter Olympics scenes are presented to audiences in high quality, COSCO SHIPPING’s subsidiary Guangzhou Yuanhai Auto Carrier, attached great importance to transportation support. Through daily dispatching and the use of an independently developed digital intelligence platform, the team closely monitored navigation and equipment conditions throughout the journey. At the Port of Livorno in Italy, the ship-shore team worked closely with COSCO SHIPPING’s Italian subsidiary to meticulously arrange the unloading process, achieving efficient connectivity and seamless transshipment, and clearing the way for the equipment’s swift entry into the venue. Following the arrival of the four broadcasting vehicles at the port, they are scheduled to enter the San Siro Stadium in Milan in the near future to undergo final debugging and preparatory work.
This is not the first time that “Chinese Red” and “Maritime Blue” have joined hands at the Olympics. Before the 2024 Paris Olympics, it was M.V. COSCO SHIPPING ARIES that transported the same broadcasting vehicles from Ningbo Zhoushan Port to France. Faced with complex urban traffic restrictions, the team innovatively adopted a “split hoisting” solution to ensure the vehicles remained intact, laying a solid foundation for efficient and professional logistics services for Olympic broadcasting.
