COSCO SHIPPING Secures Logistics Mission for Core Exhibits of China Pavilion at Osaka World Expo 2025

On April 3, COSCO SHIPPING successfully completed the transportation of core exhibits and support materials for the China Pavilion at Osaka World Expo 2025. This shipment, including invaluable collection highlights and smart technology exhibits, has just finished its journey from Shanghai to the Expo Park in Osaka, Japan, ensuring an exciting showcase for the China Pavilion.

Integrated “Shipping-Air-Digital”Strategy Ensures Safe Transit

In order to meet the unique demand of transporting these precious Expo materials, COSCO SHIPPING Exhibition, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics & Supply Chain Management, crafted a comprehensive, fully integrated solution featuring “shipping+air+digital” elements. This multifaceted approach involves seven containers of four shipments, and an additional 23 cubic meters of cargo by air. Key items includes replicas of Chinese national treasures such as the Sanxingdui Bronze Sacred Tree and the Shang Dynasty’s Simuwu Cauldron, alongside sophisticated technological displays like a smart city sand table and an AI-integrated machine. To ensure their safe travel across the ocean, these treasures were cradled in temperature-and-humidity-controlled containers and secured by state-of-the-art three-dimensional fixing technology. COSCO SHIPPING also employed a “modular container” loading strategy for nearly 10,000 ancillary items, including volunteer uniforms and navigation equipment. This intelligent approach maximized space utilization by 27%, while also providing clients with comprehensive display packaging, customized packing solutions, and real-time GPS monitoring services. Upon arrival in Japan, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics Japan seamlessly handled customs clearance and the subsequent transfer of the exhibits, ensuring their timely delivery to the Expo Park.

7-Day Door-to-Door Delivery for Oversized Cargo

The lunar soil exhibit and the “Jiaolong” submersible experience module, shipped for the Expo, are both oversized air cargo requiring meticulous handling. This includes specialized airworthiness assessments, dedicated container arrangements, and expedited customs clearance. With a tight deadline from the China Pavilion as well as service demand for major events in Shanghai, logistics coordination was exceptionally challenging for COSCO SHIPPING Exhibition. However, the company immediately activated its emergency response protocol, completing all shipping formalities for the China Pavilion in just 72 hours. Its 7-day door-to-door delivery service slashed 60% off the standard timeline compared to conventional ones, showcasing the company’s exceptional emergency response capabilities and professionalism.

“One-Stop Exhibition” Platform: Redefining Expo Logistics

Leveraging the power of digital intelligence, COSCO SHIPPING Exhibition continues to refine its “One-Stop Exhibition” WeChat mini-program, adding to it a dedicated service portal for the 2025 Osaka World Expo. Through streamlined internal processes, users can now effortlessly place orders, track real-time shipments, monitor transportation status, and manage settlements. This significant enhancement in service efficiency dramatically elevates the overall customer experience.

As the countdown to the Osaka World Expo 2025 is on, COSCO SHIPPING Exhibition is stepping into high gear and is launching the next phase of its comprehensive transportation support plan. Leveraging the expansive global network of COSCO SHIPPING, the company will provide end-to-end logistics solutions for the theme week activities of participant Chinese provinces and cities, as well as transportation services for corporate exhibits, enabling China’s intelligent manufactured products to shine brightly on the world stage.

Scheduled from April 13 to October 13, the Osaka World Expo 2025 will feature the China Pavilion, one of the largest self-built foreign pavilions at the event, spanning an impressive 3,500 square meters. Under the theme “Building a Community of Life For Man And Nature — Future Society of Green Development,” the China Pavilion will take visitors on a journey through 5,000 years of Chinese ecological wisdom, presented in three captivating chapters: “Harmony between Man and Nature,” “Green Water and Green Mountains,” and “Endless Life.” The pavilion will not only showcase the concept and remarkable achievements of green development in contemporary China but also offer a visionary glimpse into a future where China and nations worldwide collaborate to forge a harmonious relationship between humanity and the nature.
