On May 19, the naming ceremony for the vessel M.V. OCEAN INSPIRATION took place in Shanghai. COSCO SHIPPING Energy has successfully collaborated with all stakeholders in the global energy transition driven by the “dual carbon” goals, jointly advancing the resilient growth of the energy industry chain. The pioneering “China-made propeller + SCR” collaborative power architecture employed in the shipbuilding process effectively reduces overall energy consumption.

It is reported that, equipped with the world’s leading cargo containment system and dual-fuel low-speed engine propulsion system, along with a brand-new cryogenic device, the M.V. OCEAN INSPIRATION can precisely balance speed and evaporation gas dynamics. It also seamlessly switches between long and short route operation modes, with navigation adaptability covering over 90% of global LNG trade routes.

Notably, this project not only achieved domestic substitution for core equipment such as low-temperature butterfly valves and low-temperature expansion joints but also, with its formidable strength of “full-chain autonomy + full-scenario adaptation,” has reinvigorated the Chinese solution for clean energy maritime transportation.

The practical application of these domestically produced pieces of equipment on ships has significantly contributed to the formation of a hundred-billion-yuan industrial cluster in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry, injecting robust momentum into the construction of the LNG industrial chain.
