Lighting Up South-South Cooperation: 1,500 Solar Streetlights Set Sail

Date:2025-05-14 Read times: font size:[ L M S ]

China Ocean Shipping Agency Yangzhou, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics and Supply Chain Management, recently facilitated the shipment of 1,500 sets of 60W solar streetlights from China to Antigua and Barbuda. This transport was part of a South-South Cooperation material assistance project aimed at addressing climate change. The successful delivery demonstrates the tangible implementation of international climate cooperation initiatives and highlights COSCO SHIPPING’s contribution to the climate resilience of the island nation.

To execute this task, China Ocean Shipping Agency Yangzhou established a dedicated task force to streamline all operational processes. Recognizing that some items were classified as dangerous goods, the team meticulously coordinated the shipping schedule while efficiently managing customs declaration procedures, including quarantine and release requirements. Dedicated personnel also worked closely with customs inspectors throughout the process to ensure the smooth and secure handling of this vital national project.

Looking ahead, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics and Supply Chain Management reaffirms its commitment to global service, aiming to expand international cooperation in climate adaptation and contribute to building a fair, reasonable, cooperative, and mutually beneficial global climate governance system.
