Recently, the first batch of main components for Airbus’ Tianjin factory’s second assembly line arrived as scheduled after 46 days of voyage. These precision aircraft components were escorted meticulously by COSCO SHIPPING and will soon be assembled in the coastal city of Tianjin.

As the sole logistics partner trusted by Airbus for 17 years for its Asian assembly line, COSCO SHIPPING has adopted an integrated “shipping + port + logistics” supply chain service model for Airbus. From September 4 to October 20, after completing barge transportation in Europe, these aircraft components set off from the Port of Hamburg in Germany and were transported by M.V. COSCO SHIPPING Aries to the Tianjin Port in China, where they seamlessly completed unloading and land transportation.

During the transportation process, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics & Supply Chain Management, COSCO SHIPPING Lines, and COSCO SHIPPING Europe worked collaboratively and efficiently with respective parties, precisely controlling every detail of the process and ensuring the smoothness and safety of the entire transportation, demonstrating the outstanding strength of COSCO SHIPPING in providing global-leading logistics and supply chain services.
The recipient of this batch of cargo - “Airbus Assembly Line 2” - began construction in September 2023 and will be responsible for assembling popular Airbus models such as A319, A320, and A321. Once fully operational, the two Airbus assembly lines in Tianjin will be capable of delivering 13 aircraft per month.
