On April 16, CHIMBUSCO 2025 Global Green Supply Chain Partners Conference, themed “Smart Green, Fueling Future”, was held in Shanghai. The event convened global partners to jointly explore opportunities and challenges in green supply chain development, promote green shipping practices, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the global shipping industry.
Main Forum: Exploring New Trends and Forging a Green Future for the Industry
Mr. Zhang Feng, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING, highlighted CHIMBUSCO’s pivotal role in supporting the corporation’s transformation into a world-class shipping technology company through sustained pioneering efforts. He expressed his hope that CHIMBUSCO would continue its work to become a global leader.
CHIMBUSCO has consistently advanced its dual focus on digital-intelligent innovation and green transformation, delivering significant progress with the support of its partners. The company is positioning its green supply chain as a critical driver to elevate its global presence in ship fuel provision. As a recognized leader in the industry, CHIMBUSCO has pioneered the integration of renewable energy solutions in marine fuels, fostering environmentally sustainable practices and propelling the shipbuilding sector toward a greener future.
New Image: Two Major Brands Make Their Debut, Writing a Brand-New Green Chapter
In the context of the global shipping industry’s accelerated transition to low-carbon practice, CHIMBUSCO, as an explorer and practitioner in the field of green energy, has designed and officially released two new brand images: the green energy sub-logo “CHIMBUSCO GREEN” and the corporate mascot “Little Blue Dolphin.”
These two brand images will serve as flagships for CHIMBUSCO in the green energy sector, injecting strong momentum into the green development of the shipping industry and leading global partners towards a greener future.
New Honor: Recognition of Star-rated Vessels
In 2024, CHIMBUSCO established an “Incentive and Restraint Mechanism for Bonded Oil Chartered Ships,” linked to star rating results. Following a rigorous selection process, ships that earned the titles of “Diamond Service Pioneer,” “Gold Service Pioneer,” and “Excellent Service Pioneer” were commended at the meeting. Additionally, the first batch of CHIMBUSCO star-rated vessels in 2025 was selected and awarded plaques.
New Standards: Industry Revitalized by Three Key Releases
At the meeting, Jiang Kai, President of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and Qin Ling, President of CHIMBUSCO, jointly unveiled three pivotal group standards: “Carbon Footprint Evaluation of Green Methanol Product,” “Safety Regulations for Tank Truck Refueling Operations of Marine Methanol Fuel,” and “Technical Requirements for Oil Spill Monitoring System in Marine Refueling Operations.” They also delivered the release remarks. The official introduction of these three standards provides a clear guidance for the industry’s green transformation.
New Commitment: Explore New Opportunities through Win-Win Cooperation
During the conference, CHIMBUSCO and its six partners signed strategic cooperation agreements to further deepen their collaborative relationships. In the future, through collective efforts, the partnership between CHIMBUSCO and its global partners will become even closer, ensuring a more stable green supply chain and a brighter future for green energy.
Furthermore, the main forum featured three parallel sessions. Participants engaged in thorough discussions and exchanges on the digital development and future of marine fuel refueling, the requirements and applications of marine lubricating oil in new energy ship engines, the industrialization challenges and strategies for green and low-carbon methanol for ships, and the application and promotion issues and solutions for sustainable marine fuels in shipping.
