On September 20, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers celebrated a significant milestone with the naming and delivery of its tenth vessel in the 77,000-DWT series multipurpose pulp carrier fleet, the “GREEN SALVADOR,” in Dalian. This series represents the world’s largest specialized pulp carriers.
The “GREEN SALVADOR” boasts a total length of 225.0 meters, a molded beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21.0 meters, and a design speed of 15 knots. Its cruising capacity extends up to 25,000 nautical miles, making it an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly green ship. The cargo holds are container-shaped and equipped with a rotary dehumidifier, ensuring the quality and safety of pulp cargo transportation. Beyond serving pulp customers, the vessel is versatile enough to accommodate high-speed rail trains, wind power equipment, new energy vehicles, large machinery and equipment, ultra-long and overweight steel pipe pile structures, among other goods. To enhance safety during the transportation of new energy vehicles, the series has incorporated a “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and early warning system.
It is reported that the maiden voyage of the “GREEN SALVADOR” will embark on the South American East route, transporting vehicles, containers, engineering equipment, and other goods from domestic ports to Brazil.
In recent years, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers has actively entered the pulp transportation market, collaborating closely with major pulp manufacturers worldwide. By tailoring ship types to the specific characteristics of the cargo, the company strives to build a world-class pulp fleet. To date, it has successfully operated over 30 multipurpose professional pulp carriers ranging from 62,000 DWT, 68,000 DWT, 72,000 DWT to 77,000 DWT. Looking ahead, the company plans to further develop various types of pulp ships, continue optimizing its pulp fleet, and enhance customer service capabilities.
