On September 13, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers celebrated the successful naming and delivery of its second 62,000-DWT multi-purpose heavy lift vessel YUAN FU, at CSSC Chengxi Yangzhou Co., Ltd.

The YUAN FU boasts an impressive total length of 199.9 meters, a molded beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 19.3 meters, and a full-load draft of 13.5 meters. Its design incorporates five spacious cargo holds with large openings and container-shaped structures, with a maximum cabin length of about 40 meters. The ship is equipped with two 150-ton cranes and two 80-ton cranes, enhancing its versatility for handling heavy equipment and containers of varying sizes. The combination of its high load capacity and container-shaped design makes it ideally suited for the transportation of all types of general dry bulk cargo. The YUAN FU also meets the stage-three energy efficiency standards, adheres to Tier III NOx emission requirements, and complies with the latest SOx emission regulations, affirming its status as an eco-friendly green vessel.

Following the inaugural vessel GUANG FU, the YUAN FU marks the second ship in COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers’ series of 62,000-DWT heavy lift ships built by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard. A total of ten vessels from this series are scheduled for delivery between 2024 and 2025.

For its maiden voyage, the YUAN FU will embark on the South American East Coast route, undertaking a wind power project for Goldwind. It will carry a full load of wind power equipment from a domestic port to Brazil.

The multi-purpose heavy life carrier fleet constitutes a cornerstone of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers’ operations, comprising over 60 vessels with individual lifting capacities ranging from 200 tons, 250 tons to 350 tons, and combined lifting capabilities reaching up to 400 tons, 500 tons, and 700 tons.
