On January 14, the first “Annual Top Ten Innovative Products of the Shipbuilding Industry” organized by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI) was announced. The “LNG Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Platform”, “3200-ton fourth-generation jack-up wind turbine installation vessel” and “154,000-DWT shuttle tanker” were listed among the “2022 Top 10 Innovative Products of the Shipping Industry”.

The GTA Tortue FPSO, a natural gas processing FPSO designed and built by COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore, is characterized by the integration of the hull and topside facilities, demonstrating the capability of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises in the field of high-end complex equipment manufacturing, and reflecting their increasing design and shipbuilding capability in the area of high-end FPSOs, as well as growing competitiveness and share in the international market over the past decade. 

The successful delivery of the 3200-ton fourth-generation jack-up wind turbine installation vessel designed and built by COSCO SHIPPING (Qidong) Offshore has reflected the extraordinary contribution made by China’s shipbuilding industry to the global offshore renewable energy development, and demonstrated the strong manufacturing capability and leading international market competitiveness of China’s shipbuilding enterprises in the field of new large-size offshore engineering equipment manufacturing.

The successful design, construction and massive production of the 154,000-DWT shuttle tanker by COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Zhoushan represent the critical achievements of accurate product positioning and dedicated research and development for many years, significantly enhancing the shuttle tanker industry scale and international market competitiveness of China’s shipbuilding industry.
