On the morning of June 9, the opening ceremony of the Central and Eastern Europe Trade Logistics Park Base (Phase-I) was held in the Ningbo Free Trade Zone (NFTZ). This base was co-built by COSCO SHIPPING Logistics and NFTZ and operated by COSCO SHIPPING Logistics. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Chu Yinliang, Vice Mayor of Ningbo, Mr. Han Jun, Assistant to the President of COSCO SHIPPING and President of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics, Mr. Yan Rongjie, Director of the NFTZ Management Committee, and Mr. Duan Yonghuan, Chief Financial Officer of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics.
In June 2015, the Central and Eastern Europe (Ningbo) Trade Logistics Park was established in NFTZ. Being home to a number of companies engaged in trade with CEE, this park provides a major platform for trade ties between Ningbo and CEE countries. As an integral part of the CEE (Ningbo) Trade Logistics Park, the CEE Trade Logistics Park Base will provide CEE traders and e-commerce players with one-stop supply chain solutions by integrating “overseas warehouse” operation, cargo agency, bonded and food warehousing, allocation of imported goods, logistics distribution and trade enforcement. The base construction is divided into three phases: the 12,000-square-meter constant-temperature food warehouse (Phase-I) was put into use on June 9, 2017; the design and construction of the 8,200-square-meter constant-temperature food warehouse (Phase-II) will be started from July 2017; and in Phase III, a cold chain warehouse is scheduled for construction based on the subsequent demand for products from CEE countries.
At the opening ceremony, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics and NFTZ also signed the Framework Agreement on Deepening Strategic Cooperation. According to the agreement, the two parties will make full use of their advantages and deepen cooperation to build a large integrated logistics service provider which relies on NFTZ and the Port of Zhoushan in Ningbo and extends its service to other countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, especially to the trade with CEE countries. They are also committed to turning the base into one of the most important platforms for international logistics supply chain service and trade in NFTZ.
